Jump!

The following transcript was taken from a previously unpublished interview with rock legend, Eddie Van Halen, hosted by Rolling Stone interviewer Michael Azzerad:

MA: Mr. Van Halen, is it true that you kindled the '84 pop hit Jump with nothing but an Oberheim OB-X, Marshall stack and a sprinkle of grandma's magic appledust?
VH: "well.. yes"
MA: Mr. Van Halen, is it true that LA bass-synth duo, El Ten Eleven, created a tribute song to your band-splitting decision to incorporate synthetic sounds into your music?
VH: "oh, you must be referring to I Like Van Halen Because My Sister Says They Are Cool

[subtly brushes his nose, fine white powder falling on the tiles]

"Well.. yes"

The interview was only brief, but from what I can infer, it must've been intense.

Tusken Raider

Dear unwavering & ardent fanbase,
If you hold absolutely any interest in the arts, take the 8 minutes... even the 33 seconds from today's busy agenda and devote them to the viewing of the following clip:

This is one of the most moving sand stories you'll ever see - in all likelihood, the only one. However many tales you've seen written in sand against a lightbox, this portrayal of the devastating impact of WWII on the citizens of the Ukraine will reach you.

Ukranian artist Kseniya Simonova's 'painting' pushed judges and audience alike to tears - a resultant 4,000,000 viewers accessing Youtube, hoping to witness this display of purity and talent. If that number of youtube hits still leaves you skeptical, 24year-old Kseniya walked away with the small sum of $125,000 for her efforts and was crowned "Ukraine's most talented".

Think you can do better?

From Norway, With Love

"River and sea, picking up sound, through the air there's a fluffy cloud, falling down as rain..."

Nothing sweetens your day like the delicious blend of dual acoustic guitars and buoyant lyrics emanating from Nordic duo Kings of Convenience's most recent album, Declaration of Dependence (Virgin/EMI). With renowned album, Riot on an Empty Street paving listeners' neurological pathways in 2004 under the Astralwerks label, Declaration of Dependence boasts the likes of bossa single Mrs Cold and the more vivacious Boat Behind, lifting the duo to a higher standard than I myself believed they would ever set.
